Vision and Values

Alice F. Harris is a graduate of Florida State University School of Law and received her B.S. degree from the University of West Florida, graduating with honors from both institutions. For over 17 years, Attorney Alice Harris has practiced criminal defense law exclusively as an Assistant Public Defender in the Pensacola and Milton offices.

During this time, Attorney Harris has defended a wide variety of cases, ranging from misdemeanor traffic crimes to the most serious of felonies, including such offenses as Capital Sexual Battery, Arson of a Dwelling, Attempted Murder, Felony Murder, Armed Robbery and Home Invasion Robbery.

As an Assistant Public Defender for the First Judicial Circuit of Florida, Attorney Harris often handled a caseload of over 100 cases and clients at any given time. This large caseload gave Attorney Harris a wealth of experience with defending many kinds of cases and managing multiple important aspects of criminal defense practice.

Attorney Harris is an active member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the local chapter — the Society of the Criminal Defense Bar. She served in various offices of the Society of the Criminal Defense Bar, including a term as President and received that organization’s “Star Defender” award in 2010. She has also been a member of the Escambia Santa Rosa Bar Association and the Inns of Court.

Alice Harris is a graduate of the Trial Lawyers College (TLC), established by noted trial lawyer, Gerry Spence over 25 years ago and operated from its headquarters at the TLC ranch campus outside Dubois, Wyoming. She graduated from the 3-week-long intensive on-campus college in 2011 and has attended additional week-long and weekend courses offered by TLC in various aspects of trial skills and personal growth for criminal defense lawyers.

As an experienced criminal defense attorney, Alice Harris is fully qualified to help those charged with crimes. She is a zealous advocate for her clients and has a strong belief in her clients’ rights.

Attorney Alice Harris will come to you if you cannot come to one of her office locations. She is not hesitant to visit clients in jail and she gives priority to clients who are in custody, obtaining release on reasonable conditions whenever possible.
